René Brachvogel was born in Herborn, Germany. He studied Chemistry at the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg and conducted research in the laboratory of Prof. Rudi van Eldik during his Bachelor studies. He did his master thesis in the lab of Prof. Ivana Ivanović-Burmazović, where he worked on novel H2S-donating systems. In spring 2013 he joined the Delius group working towards establishing dynamic orthoester exchange as a new tool in the field of supramolecular and systems chemistry. Outside the lab he likes TaiChi, reading books, travelling the world and enjoys the local cuisine.
