Xingmao studied chemistry at Shanxi Normal University and obtained the B. S. in 2012. He completed his PhD in 2019 at Shaanxi Normal University (China, Prof. Yu Fang, 2012.9-2019.6), and was a joint-trained PhD student and post-doctor at the University of Utah (USA, Prof. Peter J Stang, 2017.9-2018.9 and 2019.7-2021.2, respectively), as well as a research assistant at Shaanxi Normal University (China, Prof. Yu Fang, 2021.3-2022.3). He moved to Germany in April 2022 and joined prof. Max von Delius group at Ulm University as a post-doctoral researcher. Xingmao was awarded a Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship in November 2021.
